The Japan Mobility Show 2025

Association & protocol news

The Japan Mobility Show 2025 was held at Tokyo Big Sight from 30 October to 9 November 2025. Its theme was ‘Let's go in search of an exciting future!’, and over 500 companies participated, encompassing not only the automotive industry but also other sectors such as IT, telecommunications, and electronics. Attendance during the event period was announced as approximately 1.01 million visitors.

This time too, various companies exhibited their electric vehicles, and CHAdeMO members were visible! Crowds gathered around Honda Motor's ‘Honda 0’ series BEVs, BYD's ‘Racco’ unveiled with Japan's ‘Kei Car (light vehicle)’ specifications, Nissan Motor's ‘New Leaf’ and Mitsubishi Motors' electric crossover SUV concept car, the ‘MITSUBISHI ELEVANCE Concept.’ just to name a few.

Another CHAdeMO member, Hyundai Motor Company had a stand, where the long-awaited ‘SERA400’ charger — the first 400kW-class unit compliant with the CHAdeMO standard — was displayed near the high-performance IONIQ 5 series, drawing considerable attention. SERA400 was co-developed by CHAdeMO Members e-Mobility Power and Takaoka Toko

The concept card displayed gave the impression that many models seemed ready for practical implementation relatively soon, rather than being extremely futuristic vehicles.

While Japan may be lagging in the market penetration of BEVs and PHEVs, the show gave an impression that motor-driven propulsion is becoming the norm, even for the Japanese market.
