Spain’s first rapid charging point in Barcelona

ENDESA AND CEPSA have signed a collaboration agreement to develop, integrate, roll out and test a network of charging points

Madrid, 14 April 2011.‐ Endesa and Cepsa have inaugurated the first rapid charging point in Spain in a Cepsa service station at Calle Lope de Vega, 125 in Barcelona. The ceremony was attended by Jordi Hereu, Major of Barcelona; Javier Uriarte, Endesa’s General Manager – Marketing, Sales and Customer Service; Francisco Calderón Pareja, CEO of CEPSA Service Stations.

Thanks to this agreement there are now also two standard charging points in operation at the Campo de las Naciones service station in Madrid.

Both Endesa and Cepsa have expressed their interest in and total commitment to developing the electric vehicle given its significant contribution in meeting sustainability, economic growth and value creation objectives. In fact, Endesa has already pledged to develop a sustainable transport policy based on the electric vehicle as a key element in combating climate change, a cornerstone of its Sustainability Strategic Plan 2008‐2012.
