CHAdeMO 2018 General Assembly took place in Tokyo

CHAdeMO's General Assembly took place in Tokyo as the Association continues to expand with a healthy growth in the number of compatible EVs, charger installation as well as its membership base.

In the Association’s report on its Fiscal Year 2017 activities, the new CHAdeMO numbers were reported to demonstrate the healthy growth of CHAdeMO across the globe. E.g. Already over 18 000 chargers installed across 71 countries; close to 400 members from 38 countries with an upwards trend, etc. After CHAdeMO’s President Toshiyuki SHIGA shared his personal points of view on the future of mobility, Mr.¬†Hiroshi ISHIKAWA (Director, Electric vehicle and Advanced Technology, METI) and Dr. Hiroshi OKAMOTO (Executive Vice President, TEPCO Power Grid) spoke on the government’s actions to promote “next-generation vehicles,” and on the future of the energy industry towards decarbonisation, coined Utility 3.0, respectively.

In the reception that followed, a variety of CHAdeMO-flavoured products were displayed by various members. There was also a special speech and presentation by Mr. Pierpaolo Cazzola (Senior Energy and Transport Analyst, IEA) on the latest version of their most popular publication, Global EV Outlook 2018, which had just been published.
